Project Cam
 
Please read these terms and conditions of use carefully before using, or obtaining any materials or information through, the Project Cam service and website ("Project Cam").  Cable in the Classroom ("CIC") offers access to and use of Project Cam to you under these terms and conditions ("Terms").  By accessing, using or obtaining any content, data, materials, or information through Project Cam, you agree to these Terms.

- CIC will have access to the content of all Project Cam projects and may access such content at any time without notice for the purpose of Project Cam administration.

- Project participants are prohibited from posting content that violates the law or violates or infringes the rights of any party.

- Project Cam may only be used for non-profit, educational purposes.

- CIC will have the right, but not the responsibility, to monitor project content for appropriateness, and CIC reserves the right to terminate projects and deny service in response to a complaint of inappropriate, illegal, or offensive use of Project Cam.

- CIC may share the names of participating teachers with the teachers' local cable companies (the providers of Project Cam).

- Project Cam content will not be accessible by anyone other than project participants and CIC.

- All Project Cam content is owned by its creators, and CIC will make no other use of such content outside of the scope of Project Cam.

- Upon termination of a Project Cam project, all content for that project will be deleted from the server on which the project is hosted.  Project Cam content will not be stored by CIC or any Project Cam provider.  Participants may transfer content of a project out of Project Cam before deletion.

- CIC makes no warranty of any kind regarding Project Cam or any content, data, materials, or information provided through Project Cam.

- CIC expressly disclaims any representation or warranty that Project Cam will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.  

- CIC and the Project Cam providers will not be responsible or liable for (a) any damages to or viruses that may infect your computer equipment or other property as the result of your access to or use of Project Cam or any content provided through Project Cam; (b) the accuracy, completeness, or legality of any content, data, materials or information posted on Project Cam; (c) any injury, loss, claim, or damage that arises out of or is any way connected with any use of Project Cam or the content, data, materials or information found therein or any failure or delay of Project Cam.

 
For Read Across America Participants:
 

- This Project will be accessible by Project participants (i.e., participating students and the VIPs who will read to them), as well as the press and other third parties authorized by CIC.

- By participating in this Project, you acknowledge that the Project may be covered by the press, and you consent to the publication of your and, if applicable, students' names, biographical information and likeness in any media for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation the Internet, or further compensation.

- The user name and password assigned to you for purposes of participation in this Project are not unique and may be simultaneously assigned to other participants.  User names and passwords will become invalid at the conclusion of this Project.
